The Chanler

This past Sunday, I went to lunch with my Mom in Newport, RI. I had heard that there was a gorgeous boutique hotel right on the Newport Cliff Walk, called The Chanler. I had told my Mom a few months back that I wanted to visit, so we made plans for lunch. Oh. My. God. I was blown away by how beautiful this place was — and we went on a cloudy day! I can’t even imagine it on a beautiful summer day (I will be back on one of those summer days for lunch out on the patio). I’m definitely not the first to find this beauty — it was rated The Most Romantic Hotel in America (and Top 16 in the world), by Conde Naste Traveler.

We ate at their restaurant, The Spiced Pear. I got a a lobster roll, which was delicious.

And I also fell in love with the bathroom. I’m pretty certain this is the prettiest bathroom I will ever see. Not pictured: a vanity area and a full fireplace.

It is a hotel, and has 20 rooms. Apparently I had been in one of the rooms when I was younger (so my Dad says..) but unfortunately was too young to appreciate it. One day I’ll have to check out these rooms, even if it’s just for a tour. They sound extravagant. Here is what Conde Naste had to say about them:

“20 uniquely designed rooms filled with silk and velvet, overlooking ocean and beach (some with outdoor hot tubs). Weather permitting, couples can toast s’mores, wrapped in cozy blankets, by a fire pit on the lawn before a butler-drawn bath.”

If you’re ever in Newport, it’s definitely worth stopping by for a drink and/or lunch.
