We made it!!!! It’s Friday, after a short week. Let’s talk skincare. I have always had great skin, which I was forever thankful for. But as good alwayssss comes with bad – my skin right now is literally so bad. The good: I have been off of Prednisone (steroids) for THREE MONTHS!!!! I had been on and off of it for three years now, but this is the longest I’ve been off and I’m feeling GOOD. What I didn’t realize, though, is that I was going to go through withdrawals. My skin has taken the brunt of it. I have been trying everything under the sun (with SPF on, of course) to get my normal skin complexion back. I was so excited when I received this product* from Lancer Skincare. It is a three-step process: Polish, Cleanse, Nourish. They also added in an eye lifting cream.
Step One: Polish. Apply this to clean (makeup free), damp skin. This comes out like an exfoliant. Your rub it all over your face and then rinse it off.
Step Two: Cleanse. Apply this to damp skin. This comes out like a gel, massage it onto your face until it turns white and then rinse off.
Step Three: Nourish. I think this is probably the most important part. This is just a lotion that you want to apply to dry skin.
These products have definitely helped my skin recover, and I am continuing to use it every night. You can find this product at Sephora for $89.00.
Note: I did the process before putting makeup on last week, and it left my face looking shiny with makeup. So I am sticking to doing this before bed only.
*I received this product free for testing purposes, but would not be writing about it if I didn’t love it. I keep it real.
Tranquility. Last week, I told you that I was going to a bachelorette party in Vermont (Quechee). I never thought I’d find so much peace at a bachelorette party.
In between the craziness, I found myself feeling so calm and content. Living in an urban area, I don’t often find time to appreciate the outdoors like I once did. But this trip to Vermont brought my appreciation for nature back in .2 seconds. We even saw a Bald Eagle fly right over us while we were tubing down the river!
Waking up to this in the morning was so peaceful.
Happy almost-weekend! I am heading up to Vermont this weekend for a bachelorette party! Should be fun and rejuvenating with lots of outdoor time.
My Friday find this week is something I am veryy excited to have found. I recently bought these adorable, comfy, Rebecca Minkoff slip-on flats on Gilt for $40 (originally, $98)! W.I.N.
The idea for my wanting these is to keep them in the office, so that on the days that I am wearing horribly uncomfortable heels that make me walk like a newborn giraffe, I can find relief remembering I put these babies in my bottom drawer. Success all around.
I found this mask on Amazon for $19, and love it! In the past, I have always bought the masks that come with the thin sheet that you put over your face and let it sit. I still like those, but was looking for a mask that just goes on almost like a lotion. This is it! You rub this onto your face until the gel turns white, which happens fairly quickly. There isn’t any burn feeling, it is good for sensitive skin. In fact, it is so gentle that you can use it several times a week. You leave it on for one minute, and then rinse off. It helps your skin to feel smooth, gives you a glow, and detoxifies for healthier looking skin. I’ve used this several times now, I’m trying, at the very least, to participate in #MaskMondays. I love the way this mask leaves my skin feeling!
Happy Friday! We made it through another week. This one seemed to fly by, TBH.
I’m starting a new series called “Friday finds.” It’s going to be anything new to me, that I am excited about and I am starting with this new candy I found. These ‘Squrtz’ are made by CVS’ brand (yep, that’s right), gold emblem.
Evan and I discovered these, and I swear the squrtz sales in Massachusetts have doubled in the past month (CVS, if you’re wondering, it’s all just one customer). If you try them, soon enough you will also be addicted. I’m not sure how long this candy has been sitting on the shelf being overlooked, but not anymore. They’re seriously GOOD.
